About this course .. 

This course is designed for Early Educators to learn how to administer a speech and language screener. The screener is designed to be simple and efficient in it's delivery. This course provides access to the screener and access to reports that an be sent home with the results, explaining the findings. All educators can complete this course. The course is 90 minutes, but it is designed to be watched in smaller units, so it's easy to access on breaks. You can use your Elective NESA points for completion of this course. 

You will learn:

  • How to screen for speech sound errors
  • How to elicit expressive language responses
  • To listen for different types of stutters
  • How to screen for play and social development
  • How to complete the corresponding report
  • How to test receptive language skills

No, it is all included in the course. The reports are integral to the screener as it provides the milestones for the child's age. The reports are a fantastic tool to get talking with the parents about your findings. 

Can I train others in how to use the screener if I have completed the training? 

No, If someone is keen to learn to use the screener in your centre, then they need to enrol in the training via our website. This allows for the validity of the screener and to ensure everyone is using it correctly.
